Knocking from front end

I'm getting a knocking/grinding noise from the N/S front whenever i'm turning the wheel at low speed/manourvering. Thought i was hearing things but the wife heard it the other day and i can confirm its not the tyres scrubbing either. Obviously it'd be a warranty job but just wondering whether its the front sub-frame?

TC, the stearing rack didn't fix it for you, did you ever get it resolved ?. Mine is exactly as Smurf describes, the noise is a groaning, sometimes popping sound.

No it was never resolved, I sold it to a dealer with the noise still there, they didnt ask if the car had any problems an they didnt test drive it.

I had a knocking from the NSF, especially when going over speed bumps or turning left. The garage have finally replaced the shock absorber (on that side only - a source of irritation), and it has stopped - for now. The OSF is also knocking over speed bumps, but not as obviously as the NSF.

The handling on my 1.8 ES is completely crap though. I find it understeering on corners, me having to steer harder through the corners and on roundabouts. The courtesy car I drove was much better, even though it only had 16" alloys (mine are 17"). I believe the road-holding should be better with 17" and am arguing accordingly with Honda. The ride and road hold has been getting worse ever since the dealer started playing with it.

I'm getting the same knocking and grinding noises in my civic. it's been in and out of the garage loads. They can't find anying wrong, i was begining to think i was paranoid. Ive got to the point where i think its best just to get rid, it's like driving a bucket of bolts. Needless to say it sounds nothing like the Honda advert on the tv!!

front suspension knock

you may find this helpful, after leaving car standing for 7 days, it would not start, A.A came along and boost started it, next day returned to dealers with a smaal list of faults, front and rear suspension knock.starting problem and handbrake recall. picked up car today only to be told rear springs had been fitted incorrectly (upside down) from manufacture, paint on springs should be at bottom apparently, but more to the point a new front subframe has been ordered as the knocking will not get any better only worse. (637 pounds parts only). may be it's worth having a word with your local dealer.ecu reprogrammed due to oil level sensor draining battery. not bad hey 56 plate ctdi with 10k on clock.
