Scratch Doctor Honda Alloy repair
Car a month old and scraped one of my front 18" storms already
(will be parking like a <sexist comment> in future Its about a 1/4 way round the outer edge but not so noticeable unless you get down beside it. If the car had been 2 years old I would have said "sie la vie". I went to one alloy repair specialist (lester in Lisburn) and he grumbled that he could probably not get an accurate colour match and was not guarantying anything. I was wondering how good the above kit is with the dark storms. I would sooner try to repair it myself than spend 50-60 quid for something that doesn't look perfect close up anyway |

I've just sealed mine with alloy wheel seal as after two or three braking runs it gets covered by dust anyway......but if you really want it repaired, try a proper alloy wheel reapir place, there are plenty about, Chipsaway also do it, as do Alloy Whizards or Wheel Wizards, something like that anyway, shop around you may find a less grumpy wheel person

Look at my posts starting 12th April 08.
Very nice chaps to deal with and although I havn't got round to doing mine yet, they are very insistant that their colours are a Very good match for each manufacturer they make up the kits for. They e mailed me stating that they are starting kits for the Honda darker colour alloys too. Autoregalia is the name of their shop I believe. if not let me know & i'll find the receipt. |

Just a word of warning, I had mine done by Wicked Wheels through a Honda main dealer. The first time they sprayed them silver, I pointed out that the colour was no where near the original and they did them again. They are still not the same colour as the originals but they say it's the closest they can get.
I have just noticed some pitting on the 2 alloys that haven't been refurbed so I'm hoping to get them replaced under warranty. Last edited by AndyS; 29th May 2008 at 12:23. Reason: Typo |
