Upgrade suspension without lowering?
Does anyone know of a suspension upgrade that doesn't result in the Civ sitting lower?
There's a speed bump on my street I have to take at about 10MPH or else I catch the front on it and if I go lower god knows what it will do. Also don't want too sporty a ride, it's a family car not a CTR. Chris |

KW means lower ride , he doesn't want that
I think the best option will be to replace the shock absorbers with those famous Koni FSD. Do a search for Koni FSD, I know this are available for Civic, also. Koni FSD Damper Set |

I wonder if there are any third party kits out there that would improve the suppleness of the ride and get rid of the slow speed harshness that some of us suffer ?

That would interest me. My guess and its only that would be that it needs better dampers and probably slightly softer springs. However - I have a funny feeling that the permissible suspension travel (which is pretty restricted) will greatly limit the scope for a better ride. Short suspension travel has always been a Honda 'feature' and ride has never really been a Honda 'strength'. Nevertheless, both my previous Hondas have been a bit more supple than this Civic, and more comfortable and less 'jiggly' whilst remaining reassuringly 'firm'.

This is my number one wish for the Civic, making the suspension cope with rough surfaces a lot better than it does. Those Koni FSD's appear to be a solution, but does anyone have experience of them ?. I note the front Koni shocks are inserts only, requiring modification of the existing front strut.
In another thread, someone commented on the 2008 model having a better ride, I would love to think that things have been improved. |

Thanks guys.
Previous 2 cars have spoilt me a bit. Rover 75, simply the most comfortable car I have ever driven, well besides the Bentley Arnage I once had a go in. And a Discovery with Air Suspension. The ride on the Civ is just as its been described, Jiggly & Harsh. The idea of a supple suspension on it sounds like heaven. Have looked at the Koni's and I don't like the idea of the alterations to the front struts etc. Will take a look at the KW solution. Thanks guys. |

Quick look at the KW's tells you that they are height adjustable from between a 20mm drop to 50mm. So they will lower the car

Has anyone had any personal or from a familiar, experience from Weitec suspension.
Weitec is in the KW-group which uses KONI shocks, would you think that this might be a good reason to assume that Weitec is worth the trouble and euros? |
