Prestivo sport tyres

I have just replaced the two front tyres on my cts from the standard 17" michelins to some prestivo sport tyres.
I wasnt really impressed with the michelins and my local tyre dealer which I always use didnt speak highly of them either. He recommended these tyres to me which are made by yokohama. I was a little scepticle at first as I had never heard of them but after a little surfing on the net I thought I would give them a go.
I have done 500 miles with them on now and so far I am very impressed with them. They offer better dry and wet grip and the car feels more planted with them on.
They cost £180 for the two fitted and balanced.

That's a good price.
Last month, I had a large screw stuck in the rear driver's side and had to get it replaced the same day. I asked the local tyre shop in Hertfordshire for a Michelin Sport and I had to pay £130 for fitting and balanced. Just for one tyre!

I think blackcircles do the best offers. Found a set for £197.00 fitted. Bearing in mind the tyre size i have 225/45/18/Z.

Can't find anything better!!!

Allan40alt recently posted a thread from Auto Express on new tyre tests.
Goodyear came up top/:

Tyre test | Total Tyre Guide | Products | Auto Express

My Batmobile's two front shoes needs replacing in a few months and I am undecided if I go for two new Prestivo Sports as mentioned by Gaz82 or go for the Goodyear as posted by Allan40alt from Auto Express.

Then again, would it make any different having two Michelin Sports at the rear and a different set in the front?

uummmm...???

I still have the michelins at the rear and it has not created any problems. There is not a massive difference in the tread patterns.

While I was getting the new rubber fitted the tyre fitter was showing me how soft the tyre walls were on the michelins. You could roll them inside out they were that floppy!! The prestivo's were a lot stiffer. He said that in a accident situation it is not uncommen for the michelins to be pulled off there rim.
