EBC Green Stuff Upgrade

Just thought I would give a quick write up on these.

I have been disappointed with the brakes on my Civ since picking it up. Very little bite and not giving much feel.

So when the time came for replacement, prematurely in my opinion, but I have said enough about that in other thread, I decided to give the EBC Green Stuff pads and standard EBC discs a go.

What more can I say than they are amazing. They are still bedding in but haul the Civ up in no time. They give so much more bite and feel it's fanatstic. Like the brakes I should have always had.

Didn't cost any more than the genuine Honda stuff either.

If you want to upgrade your brakes, you should also add some ss brake lines, and get some better fluid. You've obviously already covered the pads. Do you get bad "dusting" with the EBC's?

With regards to the 'Dusting' - EBC Green Stuff are developed to cut down on the brake dust you get from your standard pads and they do actually work. You get less dust from them and they last longer.

I used to go through loads of conventional brakes before I had these on my Mini.....something to do with getting up to top speed then braking hard, EBC Green Stuff prolonged the life span

Presume you replaced both front and rears . Seems the sensible thing to do when the brakes need replacing.

Did you fit them yourself or did you get someone (dealer) to do it for you??

If your going to upgrade the brakes then yes its advisable to do front and rear as there is no point in putting great stopping power on the back if the fronts are as crap as ever.

Hi Kissifer1972, can you post some part numbers for the discs and pads please?

Thanks,

Angie, the only reason I ask about the dusting is because I have white wheels. I'm extremely anal retentive about the upkeep on my car, sadly the only area I'm slack on, is the washing, and waxing.

does anyone else think it would be worthwhile having a "to do" on brake pads?

What about disks, the harder compound will chew your disks up a lot quicker, maybe green stuff disks or up rated ones to go with them ?

Your supposed to change discs with greenstuff when you put them on, otherwise your just wasting your money.

Otherwise your old discs will score your new pads and reck them after a few thousand miles, not to mention they could tramline, and alter your cars braking capability.

I'm hopefully getting black diamond discs (if they make them to fit the civ), they look so sweet on a black car, and EBC Greenstuff pads.
