EZ SEAL - Any good?
I've come across this in a mag that dropped on the may yesterday. It claims to provide a permanent puncture repair. Has anyone got any experience of it as I thought it might be an alternative (not cheap but if it works thats ok) to filling a tyre with the gunge from the can Honda provide.
The details, sketchy as they are, can be viewed at these web sites EZ SEAL | PU-115990 | Maintenance | Car, Leisure & Hobbies | CPC Untitled Document |

Just have had a look at the website and a few things struck me.
Firstly you have to find the hole. Please, please let this one go. Secondly you have to remove whatever caused it. This could have been in for several (hundred) miles and could be worn to be flush with the tyre so removal from the outside could be impossible. Thirdly you have to force the needle and string through the hole. This may not be at all easy depending on the size of the puncture. Finally a lot of trust is being put into a product with little real information provided to back up the manufacturers claims. I am not too keen to put my life (potentially) in the hands of a company that cannot complete a paragraph without at least one spelling mistake and that puts links on their site that do not work properly! I don't know anything about the product itself and am happy to be proven wrong but based on the evidence available I would say it is not a sensible purchase. If this technology existed (in a proven, reliable, certified form) kwik fit would use it to save time on repairs themselves. I have not heard of this. Just my opinion! Jon |

Ez seal
Jonny, I'm a sceptic too and agree with your very valid comments as on the face of it there are too many possible hiccups for it to be a goer.
Being a sceptic though can prevent you sometimes from picking up on a good idea, hence the thread as someone might have come across this product and thought it was the dogs b--cks. Obviously not though. Cheers. |

Peter,
I quite agree that the fact that something is new / not known about does not make it useless. New innovations are what keeps things moving forward. However, there is a good reason that test pilots get paid a lot... I hope someone can give good news on this new product but it all seems a bit quiet!
