Check your Blades - - lacquer coming off...

Guys,

Just been to Honda because both of my rear Blades have started to chip and peel, they reckon it'll be 2 new alloys under Warranty..... was washing and realised that the colour was getting brighter....... turns out the lacquer was chipping off on my wheel brush.

Just an FYI.

At least they are going to replace them. You'll have to make sure they are a good match for the two front ones.

I don't think it will be a problem getting them swapped. I'd insist they are all changed if there is a colour difference, however slight.

Sods law this is the first time they've been left for a fortnight..... and this happens, beginning to think this is the most delicate car ever designed, twigs can wresk wishbones, air chips the paint and now brushes remove the lacquer on the wheels.

In my experience you usually get refurbs from a previous swapout. They will never match perfectly.

They should really swap out all 4.

If that is the case I'd ask to see the wheels before they are fitted and see what they are like before they swap them.

I was speaking to the guy at the local wheel repairer yesterday and he was saying the finish on wheels on Japanese cars is always crap and they get loads of them in for refurbs because they just don't finish them very well at the factory.
