Type S GT 17" standard alloy wheel issue

Morning All

When I did the deal on the new civic, I noticed that one of the alloys had a little scuff on one of the spokes. When pointed out to the rep, I was advised that it would be swapped. When collecting the car, the rep (who has since left) advised that the wheel had been repaired. To be fair, the repair looked fine although the finish was not as smooth as the other spokes.

I gave the car a good wash yesterday and noticed that the finish on the repaired spoke was starting to come away - only a small patch at the moment but will obviously get worse.

I haven't spoken to the dealer yet, and assume that they will 'repair it' again, but do I have a case for them to put on a new alloy?

Thanks
DB

If you insist on a replacement wheel, I suspect they will simply swap it with one off another used car.

If they said it would be swapped then I would take that as part of the agreement on buying it and i'd expect it to be swapped and not repaired. so you'd be within reason to expect it to have been swapped

They probably would, and to the average punter, they wouldn't notice the issue on my alloy - but the downside of spending so long cleaning/waxing your car is that you notice anything that wasn't there the previous week!

Weekly washes so far - got some 915, very good indeed - spent way too much lately on these products though and could probably spend a couple of hundred more!
