Should be standard if you have OE alloys, your dealer will let you know.

I bought a 1.8 SE with a upgrade to 17" sport alloys. The dealer fitted locking wheel nuts without any charge. Shame they didn't change the recommended tyre pressure label on the door jam!

I've got a 2.2 SE with standard wheels and I got the locking wheel nuts without even having to mention them. I guess if they put them on an SE you should get them with an EX as well. My previous car, Civic Type-R also had them as standard.

Here in Holland they fitted the 18" Storms without locking wheelnuts. I had to ask for it and then they fitted them for free.

Typical! If you don't ask you don't get!

I found a set in my car today, never noticed them before! Nice touch, was curious as to whether they were standard or not. My car still has the standard alloys fitted.

I queried that as well.

They do come with LWN but if you want specials like chrome to fully match the normal nuts then they are the ones in the options list in the brochure.

Probably trhe most stupid question ever.....

I ordered the locking wheel nuts, but dont really know what they do. I expected it to prevent someone stealing my wheels.
I ordered 17"storm wheels.
Do the nuts come on the outside of the wheel?
Is it in the same colour as the storm wheel..?

When I went to collect my car, I noticed that there weren't any locking wheel nuts fitted. I asked the salesman doing my hand-over where they were & he didn't seem to know whether they were standard or not (I was pretty sure they were). I pointed out to him that every other alloy wheeled car in the showroom whether on display or waiting to be collected by new owners, had them fitted. He consulted with the service people & said I could either get them ordered which would take a week or he would take them off another car. Tempting though the latter was, I decided on moral grounds to order them. he reckoned that they are delivered to the dealer with ordinary nuts and the dealer fits the locking ones. Ther next week I got them to put the locking ones on for me & they gave me the ordinary ones they had removed, so now I've got 4 spares which is handy.

Gr,

Heya, Freeze.

They are pretty simple really. You get four of them, one for each wheel. They simply replace one of the original nuts. You then need a special key to open those four. Not sure about the colour though. Here's a picture from www.difflock.com.

Actually that site had a very good description of exactly what they are.

Me to - shame they fitted them by just removing the nuts they were replacing (not torqued in sequence) and then forgot to tighten them down to the correct torque.

Mine appear to be the shiny chrome ones - same as the original nuts?
