New Alloys!
I have had a steel wheel on back order with Honda for over 3 months now and seemed no nearer to getting it from them. So in the end I started searching e-bay for a replacement alloy to put in the boot as a spare.
Low and behold I found a full set of 4 brand new Genuine Honda 16" Titan alloys for sale, still boxed! Starting bid was £100 and no bids with 24 hours to go. So I bid and much to my and everybody elses suprise I won them for £100. Talk about deal of the century. Anyway I have now picked them up and they will fit into the boot well, but the lid wont close properly. Simple solution, I have ordered a boot liner and will remove the underboot storage lid. So full size spare wheel and still loads of room down each side of the wheel and the rest of the boot remains as practicle as ever. The moral of this tale is check e-bay but do not narrow your search too much. I searched using "Honda Wheel", "Honda Alloy" and "Civic Wheel". Once I filtered out the stearing wheel etc there was only a couple of pages to check. Anyway folks, they are out there if you look for less money than a space saver I have a full size spare and shortly 3 standard wheels to sell. Which should cover my costs. __________________________________________________ _____________ Leodis 41: 1.8ES Cosmic Grey, soon with Titan Wheels. |

Spare Wheel
If anybody is interested, Stratstone Honda in Leeds have just rung me to tell me the steel wheel I hads ordered is in stock. Typical isn't it. Anyway I have told them I don't want it as I am sorted, but it's there if anybody wants it. I think the bare steel rim is about £55.00, add a cheap tyre and get the holding down bolt from a car breakers and you would have a full size spare for less than a space saver.
Okay so you'll need to remove the boot floor lid, but so what? |
