Thumbs down Not so "Wonder Wheels - Falkirk"

Avoid this guy folks

Link - https://g.co/kgs/n7qU7A

Handed in a set of 18" Honda Alloys to get refurbished and x2 coats of clear on them. Wish I'd went somewhere else!

It's a lock up in Falkirk with nothing more than an air compressor, paint brush and tin in it. No oven, hanging rails for parts etc nothing!! Alarm bells should have made me leave.

Gave Scot the benefit of the doubt and left them with him.
Went back to collect them, Scot was in a rush to head out, it was difficult to see the finish on the alloys due to the lack of lighting in the lock up.

Got them home and unpacked oh boy....... the finish on them is the worst I've seen. Clear coat missing from inside the spokes, build up in other areas. Not to mention the alloys have dust embedded into the surface as there is no oven to do them in. They obviously just get painted in the lock up and left to air dry and gather large amounts of dust!!

Don't see the point in bringing them back as I believe if Scot had another go at them the finish would no doubt be the same!

Apparently "all alloys come with a years guarantee"
I've tried to call Scot on several occasions and messages via Facebook etc ..... guess what he's blocked me! 👍

He even offered to paint my van for me while I was there. Am so glad I didn't take him up ok that offer 🙈

Seriously people I'd think twice about taking anything to this lockup to get painted by Scot As you will probably end up in the same position as me.....Blocked!!

Scot you have my contact details if you feel like getting intouch and doing these alloys properly, unblock my number and I'll drop them off. Once their done properly I'll update/remove this review.

If anyone wants to get intouch to see pics of these alloys feel free.

Their still under guarantee apparently 😂😂

If you had a receipt maybe you could have got some kind of refund, I'm sure there are law's to protect coustermers who pay for a service or goods, I'm thinking how would you prove he done the work on the alloys without a receipt, and without a receipt how would you claim your warranty on his work, some people do not have morals, and it's wrong

There must be some way to get a refund or for him to correct the work, I'm sure someone on here knows about the law when you pay for a service,

Bummer, did you see the quality of his work before? Or get a recommendation?

Was his price cheap? - comparatively.

Have a chat with Trading Standards and see if they are aware of any issues.

I actually found him on this forum!! Lol

I've left a review on his website but he must hide the bad reviews.

His work looked ok. £200 for 4 alloys refurbed gauranteed for a year!!

Sorry but facebook pictures should have rang some bells...

They are showing the use of masking tape to avoid getting the tire of the rim. So no oven for sure, no sandblasting, only painting the face of the wheel ( and the air valve ?! and the wheel weights ?! ).

In hindsight you should've checked his feedback, he has had many other complaints

Masking tyres off are generally smart repairs, people who just want the bare minimum repair.
I've seen other companies do this and with a high level of quality.

I handed in 4 alloys in boxes to be refurbed. There's no excuse for this guy not to do them fully.

I don't have UK experience but here in Greece no one uses that technic.

We pay about 160€ (for the whole set) and that includes wheels off, tires off, full rim sandblasting, full rim electrostatic coating, new valves, tires on, wheels on.

take the wheels back and tell him you're not happy, record the conversation you have with him, if he refuses to help in anyway let trading standards know..
