Alloy Prices
I have become a little concerned about the dosh I have spent on 17"
Sedici new alloy's which were part of the Civic being bought brand new. The dealership in question is Stratstone Honda, who up until now have been excellent with me, hence my caution at this stage. The Civic ES 1.8 ishift was brought brand spanking 3 weeks ago the additional 17" Sedici alloys sent me back £980, up uintil now I have taken there word, does anyone have an up to date price list of Civic ES accessories. I may be going a bit paronoid, but all the same I'd like your views. Is there a large difference depending on which model you choose of Civic and then the amount money you spend on alloy's? |

Trevor,
I don't know anything regarding the spec of the ES but did the original standard car come with alloy wheels?? Thats the only thing I can think of being different. Obviously my car came with 17" alloys as standard so upgrading 1" & retaining alloys may limit the amount I dunno. |

I does sound a little on the expensive side, as I paid an extra £850 for my 18" Storms! However, I ordered mine in April 2006 and prices may have increased. Last edited by JPDirect; 18th February 2007 at 19:09. |

hmmmm....
according to the Honda configurator, 17" alloys should be £650 - but it doesn't specify which alloys they are... I'd certainly go back and query it with the dlr |

Civic September - December price list
(far as know this is still current for the next 10 days or so) Agree's with the online configurator upgrade to 17" alloy = £650.00 upgrade to 18" alloy = £850.00 Did you get money off the car ? Did you get to keep your 16" wheels? Been wondering about sticking a set of 17" alloys on ours anyone got any comments on any change in ride between 16" & 17"?? |

I found Phoenix very hard to haggle with Brodick, never really appeared to be forthcoming with money off discounts, only thing I managed was a good trade-in price and carpet mats FOC. Everything else was list price.

instead of the list £410! so might have a go with the alloys although if we are going to get the i-shift upgrade I might just be pushing it |

Well you never know, you can only ask, I was still pushing for better finance and money off 5 mins before I drove off the forecourt, in fact my fiancee gave me a telling off for being too pushy and giving the guy a hard time......thing is, its ** duty to try.
Good Luck |

Alloy prices

Yup I did get money off the new car and nope I did not get to keep my 16" bog standard wheels. I decided to negotiate the price of the car before any additional alloy's were decided, all too often dealers start ot offset addditional items to be part of any discount. Therefore the price of the car was decided and then I the alloy's became an extra to negotiate. |

Yup, been back to the dealer, the sales manager was a little flushed looking when I met him, I think he'd been tipped off about the discussion I was to have with him..... Anyway to cut a long story short.....
I did know that I'd got a good deal with the civic, no 2 ways about it, this was confrimed when I was shown the sales invoice the dealer paid for the civic and he was'nt making much on my deal at all. The prices for the additional alloys + tyres"17 = £650 are discounted by Honda, they are not the true prices dealers pay for them but this apparently is made up within the car deals. In my case the full price of the alloys £840 + VAT was passed onto me, as he said " we did'nt make anything on the car sale and we were not going to make a loss on the alloy's as well" |

the dealer has a fair point...but on the other hand, if honda advertise these on there u.k web site for £650 then that is all you should be paying, regardless of how much you paid for the car.
when i was ordering mine i checked there web site the night before and my PDC had gone down £90. told the dealer and he checked there web site and passed the new price on to me with an updated invoice. then i notice that the road tax had droped by £5 in the budget which he was also unaware of, another £5 off. how many people got charged the extra £5?? get them invoices out and have a check |
