How to call this part?????
Hi all. I was posting a message before regarding space savers. I have the 1.8 EX i-shift which has a metal disc around the brakes. It looks like only EX and typeR modells has this part. I know that it's only a design part but it gives me headache. There's no way on earth to fit hondas spacesaver because of this metal disc. I tried 6 different wheels so far, (all genuine honda wheels) no luck. The ones that fit, is too large to carry in the trunk. Please let me know if you have this metal disc and you have a spacesaver. Does anybody took it off this part? I need the spacesaver more than a design feature. Please help.

Is this just on the front wheels? I seem to remeber with some of the high end MG ZRs (big Brakes) that with a front puncture you had to remove a rear wheel and fit that to the front, then fit the space saver to the back (Smaller Brakes). Bit of a hassle, bu it may solve your problem, although I haven;t heard anyone else mention it on the forum?

Part
That'll be the back plate (if it fits behind the disc). Used to get a lot of Avensis in with funny noise almost always after the wheel had bee removed (plate was fouling the disc) bit of a smack with a small hammer soon sorted it though

Slava,
Because you have tried several spacesavers, I would guess you haven't tried the right one. The part number from my invoice is 06TMPSMGG21HE (TEMP WHEEL PACK CIV0). The inside diameter is approx' 36cm, which should be about 1cm clearance by my rough measurements. Last edited by pcr; 8th May 2007 at 09:43. |
