Most people seem to only get the strut with the detaching bumpstop changed. It was always my nearside bumpstop that keep detaching, but I made sure that both were changed by firmly stating that my offside strut was noisy to.

Both struts have now been changed with new springs to.

I wonder if the springs are a different spec?

I certainly push for both struts so the are a matched pair.

Hi All

Finally had my strut changed with a strut that has a white bump stop. Took the car over a really bad road, and NO noise. I am delighted.

Hi Soichiro

Yes indeed it's great. The car is the way it's meant to be.

My bumpstops were replaced yesterday. I now have the new white ones fitted. I have only driven the car for about 5 or 10 minutes since the repair but it felt a lot tighter, less wandery and overall much better. The knocking is almost completely gone ( Isle of Wight roads are extremely bumpy so I would expect the odd thud) I will let you guys know how I get on with the car over the next few weeks.

I had a strut replaced last week, nearside I think, however dealer told me Honda would only replace in pairs if the pair was faulty. He said I'd have to wait for the other one to go before being replaced!
