Under pressure
What pressures are you running at? (17" rims? )
Lower pressures will always give you more grip (try it the next time your are stuck in a ditch I tried playing around with my pressures (18" Pilot Sports): 2 psi over was hell. 2 psi under and it was wallowing everywhere. I tend to stick to the recommended or +1psi (Totally skint now Dont know what spec of bars they are fitting to the 3 door sport or the Type R Last edited by Miggins; 27th November 2006 at 11:13. |

TT - speak to the dealer - I wouldnt bother with this, esp with the wait... get them to get HondaUK to give you something else instead of more value

I really am in 2 minds - not helped by the lack of the call back from the dlr...
And me being too busy to chase them On one hand, I'm thinking yes, go for something else - but there is only really the image pack that I wanted but haven't already got And even un-fitted, that's a fair bit more than the suspension pack And on the other hand, I really rather fancy filling the arches a bit more, and being a bit different! As soon as I get 10 mins during the day, will be calling them. Or, if I'm really lucky, might be able to pop in to the dlrship tomorrow... |

Sports Suspension
TT whats the status on this?
I've just had my car back and been told it needs both front and rear shocks replacing - guess what I'm hoping!!!! Just wondered if there was a 'better' option available? (Even if they are only fitted to the 3 door/type R) Doubt Honda would allow it |

Blimey - was sure I'd updated this thread - sorry!
latest update from back in Feb, was that the suspension pack would be here in April. As of last week, when we chased them, this was the news (paraphased, not verbertim) "The suspension is made by a company (unspecified) outside of Honda. Honda have 500 units on order. The number of people waiting for the units is now 25, of which you (me) are one. Several people have cancelled the order, which we can understand, and apologise for. Would you (me) like to cancel?" me - "no ta" (basically) "Honda are still chasing this for you" This was all done through my leasing company (who have been great), so this time round I've had no direct contact. To date, I have had some compensation (please don't ask how much - enough to keep me fairly sweet, not enough to retire on!), and we (me and my leasing co) will be chasing them again at the end of April if (when) it still hasn't arrived... |

25 takers isn't very many when you think of all the Civics on the road! I take it those figures are for Honda UK and not the whole of Europe?

good question actually CP!
I'm assumed it was HUK - but I guess it would be Honda themselves who had the order in with the suppliers. Might explain the other 475 they have on order I was given the impression that us 25 left are the die-hards, and others have given up waiting. I actually ordered it 13 months ago now! |

I'm kinda hoping for something that retains the current level of rebound and high speed compression, but has increased low speed compression
(And gives the advertised 30mm drop) cor - did it sound like I knew what I was talking about there? ok - I'm really just going for the drop As long as it isn't significantly more jarring over bumps, wife will be happy (enough) If it rolls less (not that it rolls a lot now!) in corners and gives even better grip (I know these 2 don't always go hand in hand), I'll be well chuffed |

TT - I'm surprised that only 25 people are after this kit, although after all this time I suspose most have resigned themselves to the inevitable.
Wasn't it originally due April 2006? As I have mentioned somewhere else - it is very strange that it is taking such a long time to get this 'kit' to market. Its not that difficult to design and test an alternative kit - I expect they would need to complete a full test prog (which would include crash tests etc). This is an extreme expense even for 500 kits never mind 25. Haven't looked for a while but whats the position on the aftermarket kits? There wasn't anything available 6 months ago but I would expect after nearly 18 months in productgion someone would be offering a kit? |

nope
I was going to ask this time round, but my lease co offerred to get involved, so I decided that I was better off getting their weight behind me against the possibility of me getting more info but less chance of a result. if that makes sense? LOL |

unfortunatley it's a company car - and whilst they are fairly lax about what we do to them (as long as they are returned to standard at the end of the lease!), the one thing they are manic on is the external appearence Upsetting clients and all that Upshot is - if it's a factory option, we can have it. If it's dealer fit, or aftermarket, we can't I wasn't even allowed to tick the box for the image pack - factory supplied, dealer fitted But I could have ordered a Scooby WRX STgofasterrandomletters that comes with all the logos and spoilers and wings - becuase it's factory fit. Red tape - you gotta love it |

There no factory options on the Civic (apart from Sat Nav) everything is dealer fitted. Very unusual, but kinda cool as you can do things later if you don't have the cash when buying the car. Also gives you some scope for shopping around a bit.

And - to be fair (to me!) - I didn't know it wasn't factory fit when I ordered it either |

I got tired of waiting the sport suspension parts from Honda so I went to by KW adjustable Coilowers (springs and shocks). Cost me 850€ and the car is now 4 centimeter lower. It could have been lowered more, up to 7 centimeters, but thought that would have been too much.
