Comfort Zone

We are going on holiday to the wilds of Scotland soon and thought it prudent to have a spare fitted. My Dealer charged £150 fitted and I had to wait 10 days as they were on back order. As far as I can ascertain the price appears average.

Will be interesting to see how my mean red machine performs on it first really long run. Puncture free I hope.

Yeah, I don't have one, but my dealer said it would be £100 flat. Seems like you've been ripped off a little

Exclamation wheel bearing....HELP!

After many years as a Mazdaphile, I just joined the Honda fold....and I already need some help!

Just picked up an '88 CRX HF. Front passenger wheel-bearing needs to be replaced badly. When I bought the car, didn't think it would be a big deal. Didn't realize these things use sealed bearings that have to be pressed in and out.

I really want to do as much of the work myself as possible, but I don't have access to any of the "special tools" the Honda manual says I need, or a hydraulic press. Any chance I can do most of the work in my driveway with hand tools, then just take the hub to a shop to get the bearing pressed out and a new one pressed back in? Or do I really need to take this thing to a professional.

Really need some advice on this, as that Honda wheel bearing's gonna go any day now.

Thanks in advance!

I was charged £100 then when it was fitted they tried to charge me another £20 for fitting it? I refused to pay.

I was charged £100 inc fitting in December. After information from this site I went back to the dealer two weeks ago and asked for the net and cover etc which they provided free with no problems. Then.........suffered my first puncture.

The spare is definately only £100 sounds like some dealers are adding on a healthy little profit for themselves! Mine was thrown in due to hassle received but I certainly wouldnt pay more than 100 quid for one when the Honda site states it at that
