Alloys Choice Been offered some wheels.

Been offered some rims & tyres (for what I think is a good price). What do you lot think of these?

Please, no comments on how talented at Mircosoft Paint...I already know I have mad skills!

There 18's (even though they look like 20's in the photo!

) in Bronze & they have Imprezza/Evo fitment, like a 43 offset (but not 100% sure) so should give a 12mm poke out over the standard wheels.

This is the original photo of my car if anyone wants to improve on my above attempt

Same as the photo..but I wouldn't be suprised if there filthy in that photo

personal opinion wouldbe too keep the rages but put some spacers on them to fill the arches width wise more.
i think 18s look swamped in the civics big arches

If they come out more than standard wheels wouldnt they be outside of the arches? which is an MOT fail I think...

The standard rages sit quite far into the arches, if you fit spacers you could bring them out to sit flush with the arches which is not a fail for MOT, its only is you protrude the arch.

I couldn't agree more, but with a 30mm drop I think 18's look alright

I'm going to keep the Rages as my 'summer wheels' and plan on using the 18's in the summer as a weekend track wheel and in the winter as a ...winter wheel.

Ah yeah definatley go that route then, my 18s definatley felt better in terms of handling than my 19s..

I thought this was the case too, unitl Nat pointed out to me (at last years Mimms meet) how far back they actually sit. I think you could easily wack a 15-20mm spacer on there and would still sail through an MOT.

I'm going to try them on the car on Saturday morning. Friend is looking for £150 for them (but two of the four do require new tyres) & there a bit kurbed too. Still a deal? Or should I barter him down?

arnt the standard wheels a 55mm offset?
im running 40mm so thats your 15mm spacer difference and my wheels still tuck in the arches...(just!)

pretty similar to the dotz gtrs i had on my civic before, just a different color, they are a wheel that suits a lot of cars, with the 43 offset they should sit alot nicer in the arches than the rages and should avoid any rubbings issues

The wheels I had on yesterday have got a 43 offset to give you an idea, do fill the arches better. Mine is also lowered on 15mm eibachs.

No where near as nice as my Rages...but i think there alright, the added offset is nice, and the ride is a lot smoother
