what's wrong??
I have fitted tg front discs, yellow stuff pads all round and have stadard rear dicks, fluid and lines. I thought this would solve the problem of brake fade but it seems to be worse than ever. One hard use from 100 to 20 (on a track obv) and they are shot. Now have I wrecked my fluid cause it's probs boiled or is there another problem?? I have uprated fluid but was going to use that when I purchase some do-luck lines after next pay day.
Any ideas about this?? |

How long ago did you fit the discs and pads? Have the had chance to bed in before you started using them heavily?
Did you replace or bleed your fluid, or just leave it as-is when changing your pads and discs? When was it last changed? |

Tbh I'm not sure if the fluid got changed when they were fitted but it was a good 2k ago, so they are plenty bedded in. Think I'll get the old fluid out and the new in. Is it a job I could do myself???
Ha ha sorry meant rear discs. |

You can. It is easier with two people and i would recommend having someone that has done it before. You need to ensure there is no air trapped in the system. It is easy to get wrong unfortunately.

Pressure bleeders need you to obtain a spare cap and drill it as they don't come with standard fittings for Jap cars so even more annoying! |

Lines + fluid.
Have you done the green fade procedure yet ? 70-0 ...gentle braking for 1-2minutes 70-0 ...gentle braking for 1-2minutes Repeat until strong smell of burning brakes. Do this on straights with no one in front of you as at one point the brakes will suddenly fall off. Force ABS when this happens. But the issue you have is you won tknow if you have green fade or boiled fluid ..until the lines are done. The derv brakes are too small. Even with lines and fluid you can still boil the fluid. Just takes 30 minutes in stead of 2 |
