Storm in 17" ?
Hi, I bought the 1.8 SE back in March and ever since then have liked the 18" Storm Alloys. I asked at honda a few weeks back and they told me I can't have 18" fitted due to it being a 2" increase and it interfering with the Air Bag sensors....damn!
I came across the forum (great place) and visited the Honda Access website that is floating around, looking on there they have the storms in 17", are these available now? I did ask in Honda today, but I think I confused them and then they got me a bit confused as they told me they will find out what the reason is behind me not being aloud to have the 18"s, I tried explaining again and they just said to phone back on monday to find out, so I thought I might get a quicker reply on here |

I could be wrong but I thought that the overall tyre diameter of a 17 and 18 inch was the same, the difference being the profile of the tyre i.e. the distance from the rim to the tread and I am pretty certain the air bag sensors are nowhere near the wheels

Hopefully someone else knows? |

In Germany Storms are available both in 17" for 174 Euro and 18" for 189 Euro. However 18" are only for Sport and Executive models.

Over here, I was told that the Storm's "Do not fit the 1.4 cars, so those owners would only be offered the 17" wheels, the 1.8 cars however could have either 17" or 18" wheels....."
How strange..... As they seem to be VERY rare indeed, I'm starting to think that locking wheel nuts might be an idea!! |

Hi,
Anyone here fitted 17" storms? I'm thinking that 17" storms would be better than 18" on the bumpy roads I'm driving, but I'm wondering if they look as good as 18" ones under the car. |

If this was the case then i'm sure Honda would not provide 18" alloys as an option! In fact I know that at least one other member on here (not sure who) has retro fitted 18" alloys without any problems!! I'm sure you've probably had your answer by now though! |

Hi Eutai.
I bought 17" Storms and they look good, the dark colour of rims does make them look a bit smaller than they realy are. So for looks i would buy 18" but for comfort 17". Want to see pics? |
