traction control kicking in too easy!

I am wondering has anyone else had this problem and if so did they manage to correct it. The VSA is kicking in fairly easy when cornering right. especially if i am taking a roundabout then let off the accelerator. seems to be when weight is put on left hand side of the car. Had it in to honda last week for full health check and came out all clear so thinking its something deeper than tyres etc. also my brakes seem to be overheating, could this be related?

Binding Calipers?

Take the brakes apart and clean them up, clean the sliders and use High temp grease in the grooves, also file the shoulders of the pads to allow them to move more freely

had honda carry out this work. problem dissapeared for a while in dry conditions but remained in wet. now its back again whether wet or dry

Are all your tyres the same?? diameters?? and pressures match per axle as well.

We have had a couple of dodgy yaw sensors on here but I am unfamiliar with diagnosing them

It's still possible your calipers might be binding.
After a drive, try to touch each alloy - they should all be just mildly warm. If one is much hotter than others - there's your problem.

Thats good to know thanks. sometimes the front two are so hot you wouldnt be able to keep your hand on them. Have honda done a bad job freeing the calipers or do they just need replaced now.

Alloys shouldn't get so much hot that you can barely touch them - unless you had a really spirited drive with lots of braking

to be fair it is only exceptionally hot after a 'spirited' drive. weirdly i had one of these drives on the way to work today and no problem with the vsa. Stuck to the road.

'Binding' Calipers can happen to any car - don't buy new - horrendous price ! - get an exchange refurb deal from some place like "Bigg Red" - they'll even paint them for you as well - better than new afterwards ...

The Calipers come 100% complete, totally refurbished and ready to use - however, they do not come with the Pad Carriers, which you need to swap over from your existing Caliper units

I found this out the hard way !!!

I have the same problem. Honda had the car 3 days but failed to diagnose it (although they agreed they had had it happen to them). They did say they thought it might be the yaw sensor but would expect an error code which they didn't get.

Thanks for the tip about alloy heat, will be sure to check that tonight.

Someone else on here reported having a similar problem and they actually found it to be the negative battery terminal was loose - may be worth checking.

i know what you are going through. checked the battery terminal was fine. however when honda had my car for health check they found battery voltage was slightly low but fixed that. does your problem occur at the start of journeys our randomly. mine is more common in the wet.

I have it more often in the wet, even when I'm not driving it hard. And it has happened more often near the start of journeys but dunno if it's just coincedence. I only get it once every 3 or 4 weeks but still scary when it happens sometimes for no reason.

that sounds similar to my problem but mine is more frequent. iv even went around roundabouts the wrong way (dis used road of course) to test left cornering but its fine.
