Large knock after braking

I've got a Civic 8 from 2008 with around 60.000 KM on the clock.

Recently it's been giving off a single large knocking sound from either of the front wheels after I've been braking.

For instance I brake before a turn, and midway through the turn, or when accelerating after the turn I hear a single knock.

It doesn't do it always, and it's a lot more common if it's raining.

My initial thought was one of the brakes might've hung and once released it'd give off the knock. However all brakes have been greased up just 2 weeks ago (the rear brakes did hang, the front ones they told me was fine, but they greased them as well because I told about the knocking sounds)

I don't want to spend more money on something that doesn't help, so I was hoping you guys had an idea what it might be ?

I'm thinking it might be the suspension as well, since I have quite a few knocks from both front and rear end of the car, when going over potholes. The garage has been unable to fix any of these, and after 4 attempts I've given up on those.

But I'm just thinking maybe it's connected somehow.

Finally I'd better say I'm no mechanic to say the least, so adjusting/fixing anything myself is pretty much out of the picture.

Sounds like the droplinks, a common fault

This is likely a stupid question: But are there more than one set of droplinks ?

I'm figuring I'll go ask my garage to change the droplinks, but if there are more of them I'd better know which one to ask for

There are one on each side of the front of the car. They are cheap but a pain to change as they sometimes need cutting off.

If your experiencing a knock through the cabin like a thud when making sudden movements then it may be something like wheel nuts being loose on one of your wheels. If this is happening over rough surfaces then it may be some kind of suspension problem.

It's probably somewhere in between those 2 descriptions

I've had the car to the garage now, they checked the drop links and said those were fine.

They did however fix another civic's knock sound by tightening the front bridge (I presume that's what's it's called in english) slightly more than prescribed.

So they did this to mine and hopefully it fixes it (haven't heard it since, but I haven't really driven that much)

That's the subframe knock then. It will come back unless you have over £100 for the after market fixing kit.

Ah okay - Do you have a link to the fixing kit, or something I can search for to find it ?

Would be nice to know when the knocks return
