Question What brake pads ?

Hello ,

I own a Honda Civic Hatchback 5DR (2009, 1.8 petrol) and I've got a problem with my front brake pads -> Ferodo Premier. These brake pads digged some kind of "slot" in the disk due to the crappy metal insertion inside the pads.

It only happened on the front left side.
Now i am looking to replace them. I am thinking to buy some ATE or EBC YellowStuff for the front. I don't know which ones should i choose.
Which brake pads do you guys recommend (front & back) ?

Not sure there are Yellowstuff pads for non-CTRs - Greenstuff are good, and very low dust ...

I'm not happy with Greenstuff at all. The most noisy and dusty pads I've ever had. Run Yellowstuff now. Much better feel and almost no dust.

The brakes are still rubbish for anything other than "normal" driving though.

But that is just my opinion.

Dont be sorry virgo, im not.

They may not be a bright colour but they will do the job.

Better than oem pads that are on my car just now.

Lad made a thread just a week or two ago about how happy he was with his pagid set up.

Brakes are a matter of opinion, there are recomendations but sadly you have to try and experiment to find a set to suit your needs

My thoughts exactly

Regarding the mark on the brake disc. Looks to me like a small stone or something has got in between the disc and the pad. Its happend to me on one occation before.
Nothing to worrie about. If it squeels or makes funny noises, just take off the wheel and the pads and give them a good clean.

It was not a stone. I have checked. It's because of the pads metal insertion.
What about ATE braking pads? Any feedbacks ?

Don't know if Ferodo DS2500 is available for non CTR but I had good experiences with those on my Saab 9-3.

I've bought ATE brake pads for the front and Brembo for the rear. I will test them. Thanks.

I know it's just an opinion, but my greenstuffs on my s are great, quite and defiantly a lot lest dust then the OEM ones. But I tend to break gently. I'm not a hard driver. If you were a bit more "spirited" then something else might be better for you.

Yuuppp - I used 'Greenstuff' from 2009 until this year - only reason I changed to to Cosworth, was my annual "blast" through the Danish Motorway \ German Autobahn \ etc. system ...
