+ 40 offset for type r??

Hi everyone, my first time here, so, a bid hello to the civic world...

What brings me here is this pic:


I found it in a german web site : banzai-tuning - , well those wheels are meant to be 18x8.5 with an offset of +40!!!

I was under the impression the the minimum offset was 45, and as you can see the fitting looks awsome!!

So, has anyone tried this offset??

I was under the impression +45 was as low as you could go too...

It would probably fit as we can see, but either they use spacers between or it is unlegal because the trackwith is to far off the original....
I think i saw someone else on this forum with those rims, might be different manufacturer though...

What width and offset has the OEM 18" Type-R wheel ?

Width is 7.5 and offset is et+55 for original wheels. I've had my car up on a ramp in my work last week and checked.
