Non standard Alloy sizes

Do you recommend me to put on my civic rims R16 and wheels 205/55R16 instead of Rims R17 and wheels 205/50R17 and would the behaviour of the car be different.
Most beautiful and better aftermarket rims are only in R17 and R18 for this tipe of car, R16 are very rare.
Thank you for your advice

If it fits mechanically, and you want more comfort, why not?

Does the car have the metal surrounds to the brake discs ?, they will be very close to an R16 wheel, possible problem.
I guess it will drive like an ES, more comfortable than an EX and about 2mpg more, also less tramlining and maybe less tyre noise.
I thought about doing this myself.

I thought to put I could put for the Winter wheels Dulop 3d with R17 alloys on. For example:
  • O.Z Superturismo GT 17X7,5 ET50
  • OZ Michelangelo 10 17X7,5 114,30X5 ET48

  • O.Z Ultraleggera Cristal 17X7,0 114,30X4 ET40

  • O.Z Paladio 17X7,5 114,30X5 ET48

  • Oz Canova Black

Would an ET50 would be too much for the Civic 2.2 Diesel?

To be legal each side must be inside the limit of +/- 7.5 ET. If original is 45, its ok with 50, but then again it depends on how the rims are made to make it fit inside the wheel arch. Use of spacers can make it fit, but you have to ask the dealer for advice... If you are planning on having 205 tyres i would go for the 7" with rims, 225 is good with 7,5".
