Facelift 8G Rusty roof issue?

Hi all,

Was the facelift subject to the rust along the roof where it meets the window or was it just prefacelifts?

Thanks

Bit of a bump! If it's already rusted take it to a good bodyshop

New to the forum, but I bought my car privately second hand, with a mostly full service history. Had a closer look after a few cleans and noticed the tell tale signs of roof rust.

Mine's an 07 plate, but as I was getting a few things done by my local Honda Dealer I asked them about the roof rust. They stated they'd have a look.

Next day, get a phone call telling me the roof will get done on warranty...

Hold on. 07 plate car, it's 2017... that's 10 years! Warranty is arguably for 12 years for all structural parts. I've had this argument with Honda UK before when looking to purchase a different car. They didnt see the roof as a structural panel but rather just a body panel and so would only be covered by the 6 year warranty which had no extension.

Get yourself down to a Honda Dealership and ask. The worst case scenario, it doesn't get done under warranty but they should be able to quote you for a re-spray and new seal!

Fantastic news. I'm going to go down to my local Honda dealer as well. I phoned them 5 times and they said they'd get back to me.. returned my call 5 weeks later and said that its only 6 year warranty. I'm going to go down and ask for them to look at it... if my local garage don't do it I'll go to the dealer near my work and ask them

Sadly that's been the norm for a few things now.

Some dealers help, others see £££'s

Honda HQ do seem to be quite helpful from the posts I've seen.

Just got mine back from Honda today after they honoured the warranty on my 59 plate.

Unfortunately things didn’t turn out as well as I hoped.
On the way home there was really bad wind noise from the top of the screen, then suddenly...........silence!
The seal had come loose and freed itself from the channel about 75% of the whole length.
No matter how much I tried to clip it back in place it wouldn’t stay
