Isn't the 1.4 lacking the power for towing? Unless it's something small you plan to tow?

Maybe it's just for a bike rack?

Hope its not a caravan or something big as the 1.4 will struggle. thats including the 100hp one

Thanks for the reply's maybe not a good idea to fit one although my caravan is a light chassis van, the van is 885kg and my civic owner manual says the car has a kerb weight of 1249kg. I'm now confused.com

I had a 1.4 Si and it was a great car, but if towing a caravan, you might want to think of buying the 2.2 CTDi.

Power isn't everything, it's really about weight / stability, so it should be fine. Sure, if you have 4 passengers, and a load of luggage, it'll be slow up the hills, but it'll be fine, as long as you're within the VIN plate limits.

Lots of towbar choices, I have the Westfalia Swan Neck, so a tiny bumper cut only required.

A van of 885kg looks okay to tow on your 1.4 according to this; Towing Capacity¬*Honda¬*Civic 1.4

If it's the Si, then the engine is the 1.4 i-VTEC developing 98bhp.
