VSA light stays on

I bought a Civic MK8 Type S 2.2 Diesel 2010 model, and the VSA light was on.

I took it to a garage quite far away from me, and they advised me that I needed a new YAW sensor, so I ordered one on ebay and this didnít change anything, the light stayed on.

He mentioned that the YAW sensor I bought may be faulty, so I ordered another one, changed it, and the light still remains on. I donít know if this is faulty also.

I was wondering if, when you change the YAW sensor, does the code needs to be erased. If so, can anyone suggest or advise of a cheap code reader to buy. Iíve got a Torque Android app which doesnít have this option. My wife also has a similar Type S, I could try her YAW sensor in mine, however Iím afraid if it needs a reader that it will set her light off too.

You need to visit a dealer/person with a code reader that will read/reset ABS/VSA fault codes.
And get the fault code(s) for any further posting on the subject. Changing stuff willy nilly is not the best way of solving your problem and may possibly produce a really bad result for your wife's car.

Garage
Search around - There is a foil trick for the 8th Gen that will allow you to read the VSA Fault codes.

For a plug in diagnostic, you'll need a Honda HDS Cable.

You can clear the VSA code and ABS code (if there is one) using the method in this thread...
