ECU Type

Hi guys,
Everyone seems to say that galetto works but another site quoted that the newer civics 09-11 might be a different ECU ..

Honda Civic 2.2 CDTi Bosch EDC16C2-4 K-Line

And would require an MPPS cable..

Due to this K-Line system.. Am I correct in saying that the 2006-09 version is EDC16 C31 .. And that the 2009-11 version is EDC16 C2-4 (K-Line)?

Any information on this would be of help to me as my Galletto is heading back and I'm going to purchase an MPPS Instead but was hoping for a heads up first ..

Thanks in advance
Ryan

Easy answer is to get someone with a working cable plugged onto yours and read it.
If you can read it and get the ECU id then you can write to it and it will be EDC16C31.
If a known working cable cant get the id or read then you know its not EDC16C31

If you can read it then send me the file as it will/should have EDC16C31 written in the hex

The 9th gen civics are EDC17 tricore ...I know that much.

Have a look on the outside of the Bosch ECU case.
Note the EDC16C3 on this one

Looks like you have an out side panel on the passenger and driver side footwell.
Just in front of the doors.
Behind the passenger panel is where the ECU appears to be.
So you have to pull back the door seal and then pull off the panel.
AFAIK.

pics would be good for future reference if so
