looks brisk but specialists will judge. that's only the base RS it for ure won't match us it even doesn't have lsd. imagine the trophy with 300hp, lsd, track suspension setup, 4 wheel steer and god knows what else my guess is the rs cup and rs trophy will be lighter than fk2/fk8 or even all 3 models including base rs because 1. 1.8L is lighter and 2. the new megane platform is already very light (read what happened with 308 gti's kerb weight). if the rs trophy with it's 300hp lsd and 4 wheel steer is < or = 1300kg kerb weight it will be a blast to drive and do rings around type-r any day all day long with my kerb 1380kg some even quote it's 1420 or 1460 with driver no idea that' only quotes. my only choice would be manual and if trophy-r is commig 2019-2020 will wait for it, otherwise trophy might be beast enough, only the styling is questiobable definetly the fk2 is much much more beautiful and spot on, also that rs center console inside is , but the trophy might nail it with agressive touches and changes. maybe even 4th model trophy-r with huge turbo and 300+hp in 1-2 years spitting fire out of it's exhausts who know's with hot hatchback getting really serious so fast

I don't know why so many people like fast Renaults.....regardless of how they drive I think they all look dull and uninspiring....and I wouldn't give garage room to any of them.
I have no idea how much they cost but Clios and Meganes have always seemed like cheap cars to me.
Commander2874 and Higgo8 like this.

@nkb still slow the new RS 2018, around 15.5 sec the 100-200kmh, the stock FK2 makes 100-200 in 12.5 sec, when they put the 1.8L in the Alpine and now in the RS, they are wrong, they start already at disadvantage compared to its competitors, the trophy could improve with more hp, but the engine in my opinion dont push enough, i prefer the CTR without a doubt.

From this statement I am right in thinking my FK8 is no longer the quickest FWD around the ring either way I wound loose any sleep over this as for sure a mate of mine says its not quickest to go round the ring to get to the vag

It is a fact our engine is a masterpiece. The french only can watch jaw dropped in terms of engine and gearbox can't touch almost all type-r engines.

Just noticed this on mine too, however as I'm not keeping the car now I'll let them fix it when they take it back.

Don't know. The FK2 was a complete impulse purchase, I'd just finished a 6 year relationship and gave it absolutely no thought. I don't think I want to pay that much for a car again monthly. That said, when I did the math based on me keeping it for 3 years, PCP actually worked out cheapest due to an offset with savings I had at the time.

All depends on what deal I can get I guess! Another option is I'll give that one back and then might get another FK2 but a grey one.

Finally washed mine yesterday and started to feel why I purchased this car, not sure if its the spring weather creeping in but something is telling me to keep it and go all out.
Had 4 separate people stop to tell me how nice it is, half 12 last night I heard an aftermarket exhaust ticking over assumed someone was parking but it went on too long, Jumped out of bed and 2 lads in a fiesta st were sat in the road admiring it

Popping out soon to give it another spritz of detail spray and polish up the pipes, interior in the week, oil service Friday

Just keep an eye out for a few nights to ensure that they weren't eyeing it up as a potential future target.

Personally with a nice car left on a drive, I'd invest in some good LED floodlights and a digital CCTV system by a top brand such as Hikvision or Dahua.

Looked at another FK8 yesterday and have now decided to stay with the FK2.

Just dont like the looks and dont really see its worth the extra £10k plus over my FK2.

Prefer the interior on the FK2 aswell.
I may change my mind in 6 months though as i am so indecisive. Lol!
