oh sweet. fitment is a few days before the Blancpain silverstone race too. return from TDI and silverstone will run the system in nicely.

I'm struggling to figure out race days this year.
Partly that i expected year1 of CTR ownership to be fairly expensive, what with winter rubber, insurance, gap insurance, a few mods to get it upto my desires etc, but now we have a better estimate of the CSC6 tyre life, I didn't expect to replace summer tyres in the first 12months of ownership, meaning it's gonna hit me hard for a full set of quality boots in mid/late summer.

As much as i'd like to book up an airfield day in 2016, out of care of my bank balance, i doubt i'll be able to race at one might be able to fill in for a last-minute drop out, but can't currently predict finances in 4 months time.
Track days scare me due to youtube videos of other idiots on track. Airfield days seem far better managed/policed for the novice track-day driver.

I tested on +R mode my Fk2 on a small tricky track in France (Clastres) and it was a pure garbage with the VSA ON . No confidence, too much understeer, in a bend I skidded and lost control of the car.
With VSA OFF I finally retrieve my riding style and enjoyed it very much.
I'm saying that because I'm sure some guys (and some journalists!) don't desactive the VSA. Maybe it's not so catastrophic on a fast track like SPA (one of the best for the FK2 I think) but on a small tricky track it was just horrible!
Anyone else had the same experience?
Here's a nice vid of my friend with his prepared EP3 with semi slicks trying to catch me with my FK2 full stock.
You can see how the FK2 is good on fast corner. Please be comprehensive, I know I've made some mistakes. I don't pretend to be a great pilot, and this track wasn't the best for the FK2. I go to the Nürburgring in June and Spa in July, I think it will be better and will have a lot more fun.

Not much to comment on but interesting feedback.
FK2 is the first car i've had with VSA, and wouldn't of thought it'd make such a difference. have to try it on some corners around here as there's a few i can get the car to understeer and VSA kick in.

The facts is the FK2 is so good and the limits so far, it's nearly impossible to reach the limits on publics roads. That's why I've never thought to switch off the vsa before.

Just a bit of fun, I know the drag strip isn't the best place to race the fk2!
Still done pretty good though

Has anyone had an issue with the tpms giving a warning when driving briskly and then the traction control turning it self back on and not being able to to turn off again?

I could see this being an issue on track

I had the exact thing when I was at crail. The light came on on the drive up. Didn't know how to reset it and had no signal on my fone to google it! Eventually got a signal and figured it out.
Never done it before or since. At least I know how to reset it now if it does ever happen again

mine did it when the front tyres got to about 4mm.
i think it's just that sensitive that even tyre wear can trigger it, thinking both front tyres are a bit low. I think the manual says to re-calibrate when you change tyres.

Yes my tyres are spent so was giving them some abuse with the traction off but found it odd how it turned the traction back on when alarm popped up

As you get heat in them, it is going to change the pressures. It's a shame you have to be stopped to reset the system though.

I guess the solution would be to turn monitoring off before the trackday, as you'll be messing around with temps anyway.

time for a bump..
i know a few have been on the track now. how do you handle stuff like tow points and insurance?

i've got a feeling we don't have one and have never seen talk about it either - do we have a fuel cutoff inertia switch to worry about & if so, where is it?

You don't need any mods to track these - a friend has used his out of the box for about 5 track days now and it's been fantastic. Only issue has been wearing the lettering off the front left tyre sidewall!

aside from scrubbing the sidewall (more pressure should sort that out?), how long has his tyres lasted.. and which tyres he got?
