Car Enthusiast Meet - Gone wrong (Stevenage)

Saw on the news this morning that a guy arranged a static car meet in order to raise funds for charity in Stevenage, Herts - UK - which ended in disaster due to people who just have to drive fast to show off!! Hope the people who were hit are OK and wish them a full, speedy recovery.
It's a shame that it takes one numpty to spoil everyone's fun.. If there is a strip, why can't people just cruise to show off their pride n joy and think it's necessary to speed down a street where people are standing to view.. Save that kinda driving for the track!

Makes me furious!

There are links to the video of the event, but not posting any links due to it's quite graphic and of poor taste to post.

Agreed, there was one recently where a guy crashed a classic muscle car into a wall leaving a show in Doncaster, wheel spinning away. And he didn't own the car!!!!

The guy "racing" along the straight had no chance when that donkey pulled out of the side turn.
Side slammed him straight into the crowd - probably no chance even at slower speed.

Hope nobody dies as a result of this stupidity.

That donkey as you call it probably wasn’t expecting or saw the 350z as it was coming that quick. Add all the people standing around the junction probably obscured their view. If the 350z driver wasn’t driving like an idiot then the crash probably wouldn’t have happened.

Highway code basic lesson -- if you can't see out of a junction, proceed with caution.
Didn't see a lot of caution from the one who pulled out.

Not condoning any of this silly behaviour by the way, used to be motorcycle instructor way back so have seen plenty.

Both were idiots.

Police had no option initially but be 'understanding' - insufficient personnel to shut it down, which it should have been.

Isn't this how NASCAR Racing started?

Static Meet my posterior!!
