Door mirror plastics

Hi guys, just wondered if anyone else has noticed the black plastics on the door mirrors curling like mine, i noticed the other week whilst walking up the the car to get in the door seal had seemed to have trapped itself between the a pillar and mirror, so i opened the door and noticed the seal had come loose from behind the mirror, then i noticed that the mirror itself has bowed out causing the seal to fall out, not only did i notice this but also i have notice corrosion behind the mirror too on the door frame, so may be a trip to dealer. What do you guys think ? See pics attached some may be hard to make out but it doesnt look as bad in pics, can anyone take a pic of theirs to compare, thanks 😀

Rust in the second photo, if you look under the door seal at the top corner of the doors see if itís rusting there.

I only noticed it rusting as the seal had come loose from behind the mirror and was flapping about thus exposing rusty door frame the mirror is supposed to hold the lower part of the seal in place only the plastic holding it in place has curled probably from weathering which is extremely poor for a 2 year old car!!

That's terrible, I would be back to the dealers as soon as. I think you will find the anti corrosion warranty is rust from underneath outwards and not surface rust. Best of luck. Keep us informed.

Just checked mine on both doors and found there was a build up of wet dirt which would cause rust over a long period of time . No rust at present but because of the design of the door seal will be if left unchecked. The dirt is washed down the door seal channel from the top of the door and gets stuck and accumulates by the door mirror☹️

Thanks for checking, did you notice any curling at the bottom and front part of the base mirror plastics like mine has in the pics? I did check the passenger door at the same time of taking these pics and no corrosion was found, i did however have the black window surround trims on all doors replaced under warranty about 12-14 months ago as the black was bubbling up and peeling off, just wonder if the tech used a screwdriver to prize them off to replace them and scratched the paint in the process exposing the bare steel to form the rust.

No, I've got no curling or gaps by the mirror and all the seals are where they should be 😄
