Yes!

Creaking windscreen & a "mouse-like" squeek coming from inside the dashboard too.

Think the whole car would need rebuilding to get rid of all my squeeks/rattles so I'm not planning on doing anything about it.

I've found the majority of these creaks / cracks and even half the squeaks in mine are just the windscreen cowl. I've had the usual rev counter surround one which sounded like rice crispies but recently the others were terrible and was all set to pull the dash apart. Then i noticed that when it was raining really hard... they had all gone. Common denominator... water lubricating the windscreen cowl stopping it from rubbing on the screen. I can even replicate the cracking noise by pushing down on the cowl where the end pieces join the middle section. Gonna do the windscreen cowl fix once the weather improves.

I had to get my windscreen removed and rebonded to fix it. It was really bad and creaking constantly. 3 years down theml line and it has just started to creak again, out of
warranty. It will be some other poor bugger's problem soon though. As with all the other creaks and rattles and buts falling off!

funny you should mention that, last night I had a creak/squeek I couldnt locate, it sounded like the whole dashboard was coming away from the front of the car, it is the first time I have ever heard it, and put it down to the cold weather or something.

Then the exhaust started whistling lol.

As ninjanik mentions it could be the windscreen cowl. Give this a try.

Sounds like the cowl problem to me. If you have a glass roof, the sealing strip between roof and windscreen is also suspect. The effect of these two problems on my car can be so severe that is sounds like the whole dashboard is about to fall in your lap.

Remember that water easily freezes up inside the cowl. and I think this causes the cracking sounds - like you would think the whole windscreen was about to crack...

I'm glad its just not me! I first started hearing this after xmas when we had cold mornings.....now its all the time so I'll get it sorted. It was such a strange noise to hear at first......thought the screen was about to go.

As Morten said, its due to water freezing inside the windscreen trims that run along the 'A' posts.

Mine sounded awful in the cold weather even though the cars kept in a garage.
After 5 mins of driving the noise had gone
