Heater Fan Rattling/Clicking

Hi all

Yesterday the heater started to make a clicking noise when the fan is moving. It's driving me crazy!! It's actually quite loud.

Anyone else had this and got if fixed?

Thanks

Rich

I don't know the mechanics behind it, but it's a click caused by rotation of the fan rather than an occasional rattle. So it's continuous whenever the fan is on, and louder when it's blasting air out!

Not sure if this is the same - sometimes when the heat is blowing out the vents start to rattle and crackle and usually a good hard hit cures it - for this problem anyway i dont think there was a proper cure and people just did that, crap build quality it comes down to.

Nope, this isn't it. It's definitely a noise from the fan down behind the centre console somewhere.

Off to the dealer then....

I get the rattling sound as doofus states, don't get it when the air con is on though, its only when i turn it off and drive for a few minutes it starts, it hasn't bothered me enough yet to start beating the dash board!!

No other option mate. When you can hear a fan noise over the Milltek in Vtec, you have a problem!!!

Does it sound like this?

Did you get it sorted? If its the same problem as mine I think its the servo that controls the hot air vent. It's stopped on mine but only as the arm has snapped off the servo so no hot air for me, until i get to the dealers.

Gosh - that sounds bad. No, mine is quieter than that and at a constant pulse. Imagine a fan going round and you sticking a pen in the blades. It's that kind of noise.

In fact, mine has gone all by itself. It does re-appear now and again, but I've not had it for a couple of weeks.....

I'd say you have a stone or something got into your vent system from in front of the windscreen.

Be interesting to get a diagram to see if the fan is the lowest part of the ducting ?
