2008 Type R on 2009 plate

TYPE R 2008 Flat Battery
I was wondering if anybody could help me with this one.
I have an 08 Type R , which is on an 09 plate. The battery on my car keeps draining to levels which will not start the car, even though it covers at least 40 miles a day, the condition of the battery has been checked and it is fine.
I have the car booked in my local Honda dealer Monday to have this checked. When i booked the car in the dealer told me my car did not require the fuse box replacing. I have telephoned Honda today and they are saying the same. Does anybody know the VIN number range that requires the new upgrade. Not sure they are not dismissing the possibility of the fuse box fault due to the car being on a 09 plate?

Put your VIN on the owners section of the Honda website. That will tell you if you need to get it updated.

As far as I know it's all MY08 cars, 08 in the middle of the VIN.

If the site says it is not subject to recall then the dealer has been telling you the truth! I'll stand corrected then and it must be a majority of 08s that are affected.

Your issue must be down to something else, could even be a duff battery!

Good news it is still in warranty so should get sorted. Keep the thread updated so we know how you get on.

No offense intended - though they say you should check basic things like not leaving your wipers or lights on auto and making sure your windows are fully closed?

From what you describe it could be your battery or maybe even the alternator?

Car been in . They could not find any faults other than the battery needing a charge{I had already done this the day before}.
They suggested I drive the car until the battery goes flat and then get towed in so they could quantify a warranty claim. I told them i was not happy to do that {only had the car three weeks ands its thier ex demo}.
The dealer then agreed to take the battery off their current demonstrator for me.

So far no problems, fingers crossed.

I bet that someone had been in with a dodgy battery when my car had been the demo
