I think youll find that its JUST within the legal limit..Honda know this too, hence rejection of most claims after a thickness gauge measurement.

Whatever it is it's rediculously thin.

The clearcoat layer may as well not exist on the Alabaster Silver, it's full of little scratches.

I'm having a go a rectifying some of it tomorrow, filling in come of the light scratches with some Autoglym Super Resin Polish which should go in the scratches clear with a bit of working and then sealing it with some Meguiars Tech Wax 2.0.

I work with microns, tinfoil is 12microns thick! so id say the paint is prob more than that! If someone wants to sent me a paint chip id be happy to test thickness with a micrometer!

To measure the paint, you need an elcometer. The paint should be between 100 and 140 microns.

More here and here.
