Angry Very Unhappy Customer

Well I have finally had it with my CTR! Since day one of owning the car I have experienced nothing but problems. It started back a week after buying the car in October 2008 when the Type R side decal started to unpeel due to not being put on properly (seriously how hard is it to clean the area before applying??!!) and the rear suspension wasnt right. Next came with error messages on the ECU which has been sorted out by the AA and Nationwide Autocentre. Then two weeks ago the day my car was recalled for the MCU it packs up (do Honda have a button in the HQ to turn it off!!). Went to Honda in Churt to be replaced under warranty but the icing on the cake is went to start the car after being on Holiday for the weekend and it wont start and I suspect its the MCU and I also suspect it hasnt been done propely or replaced!!!

The car has failed the fit and proper test under the sales of goods act and I am now going to get my money back as I have had it with this pile of pants I have been given!!! and I am going to get something else

Do'h, sorry to hear about your troubles mate, regarding the above, do you leave your lights and wind screen wipers on auto? That can drain the battery over a length of time.

Hope you get it all sorted soon.

What about team awesome? Ha!

My battery was goin flat after having radio on for 10 mins without engine on, I made a complaint under warranty. I always leave my lights and wipers on auto, apparently the problem lies with the oil sensor draini g the battery and that an mcu update will resolve it. This was done for me. They didn't replace the battery nor did they charge it for me. The decal thing sounds like lazyness on their behalf, my inside light was fixed and the engineers dirty engine hands was wiped over the cream plastics, lovely!!!

You had any problems with Halesowen, I've found them to be the best dealers I've ever dealt with.

I have officially had it with the car and Honda. went to the dealer after getting car bumped this morning from AA and they told me they cant look at the car till the earliest 12th April and he expected me to call the AA out everyday to get me bumped in the mean time. That is very poor customer service. i have contacted Honda UK and said I want my money back all £7k I have paid to date He said he cant do that but he is looking into the issue. What do i do I now where I stand as it fails the fit and proper test under sales of goods act.

Have you tried ringing other dealers? the MICU fix is under the Honda recall where the work is done under warranty, and so you will be able to take it to another dealer if you feel your current one is messing you around.

With regards to the battery drain, I was told when I bought the car "that leaving either the lights or wipers on Auto will kill the battery", and so I turn these off whenever I leave the car. I've only had one dead battery situation and that was when I left the window open a little which makes the window switch illuminate, all night.

I know "you shouldn't have to turn the wipers and lights off auto", but for what is effectively a small foible of the CTR, is one I can live with.

I know you're having a pretty crap time of it and its annoying when cars break down but IMO, I think you have a very good car, you luckily haven't had as many problems as others have and your current problems can be remedied quite easily (although you might have to wait up to a couple of weeks).

All isn't lost.
