Advice sought for a long standing judder

I bought my car from a honda dealer secondhand 3 years ago.
it judders.
The few times i've taken it to the garage and had one of their techs sit in with me, it hasn't juddered.
if i can describe the problem to you all as best as i possibly can would anyone be able to advice on what it could be or if they've had similar problem?

No noise but a judder. it happens when i drive smoothly changing gear from second to third and keeping a light feather touch on pedal and it will judder, tis like it's about to 'sneeze' or as if you're in the wrong gear or as if you've gone over a two or three shallow pot holes and then it disappears. Just momentarily it does that and has been doing it for 3 years.... No noise and no problem when braking to a stop etc.. just when gently/smoothly accelerating in second or in third gear but around the point after gear has been changed and speed is sort of constant.... The dealer did a diagnostic on the car and it was apparently fine.

i've written this cause it's annoying me! it ruins the drive when it randomly appears. i get the car serviced every 6 months, sad i know, but it's just urban driving i mainly do. The cars at 55k miles for a 2010 reg Diesel.
you advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Do you think it could be the clutch release bearing?

cause it happens after i've changed gear usually 2nd or 3rd gear.
but when over speeds of 40mph upwards i don't experience it.

Clutch or fuelling issue would be a good guess

could it be something to do with 'injector' of the car misfiring? is that easy to detect?

Light throttle and mostly town driving suggests a sticky or clogged EGR valve to me. Has it ever been cleaned?

As you say, you should look at fuel, air, spark so are you using OEM filters? When was the fuel filter last replaced?

i just looked at your profile did your car really get upto 56mpg?
mine is a diesel and it's 43 at the most i've seen it do.

i drive mostly in town, short drives to be honest.
i've recently had steering wheel aligned, took ATS two attempts. i paid 45.

i buy genuine honda items from Cox for my service. It had a full service last week. Fuel, oil, air, pollen filters changed and i used Castrol 0-30 FST oil and it had coolant changed. it's the 8th year service.

I wasn't sure if a diesel has EGR valves?

Since the service the mpg has gone up from 37 to 42. But good thing is the mpg is more responsive to the type of driving i'm doing whereas previously it seemed sluggish in its read out. i wonder if they did something to the dashboard computer to get it working more precisely to my driving.

i have to get a new nearside front passenger spring replaced as it failed MOT.

Yes, my car averaged that over 3yrs of ownership on mostly open roads.

Yes your car has an EGR valve, just the one. It is highly unlikely to have a DPF, so maybe you are mixing these up?

You're right my car doesn't have a DPF. I have contacted honda dealership to ask them what they charge for clearing the EGR valves with new seals by their experienced Tech so will find out on Monday what they suggest. I think it could be EGR valve problem in my car that causes the faint judder that i've been occasionally experiencing for past 3 years which is hard to show their Technician each time he has sat in with me.
what did you mean by 'missing it up'?

Why not clean and test the EGR valve yourself?

I meant 'mixinig', have corrected the auto correct above

Would i need special tools and is it easy to do?

I called Honda Dealership this morning and plan to leave my car with them this Friday afternoon for a week for them to 'experience' the judder. Hopefully they drive the car everyday and the judder will happen?! Need their best Techs to check this car out cause there's something wrong and it has a fault with it. I want to know what the fault is as it has been on/off for 3 years. It is getting worse now cause i notice it more often than before.
Someone on the site said i ought to try a right steering lock and then a left to see if it happens.

I did a right steering lock and went round and then drove a few yards before turning at a right angle corner and it started to judder momentarily- so annoying. i wonder how that works?

After leaving the car, i'll be having to work my way with public transport, not used that in a while
