Creaky Door Mirror

Hi Guys, my drivers side power folding mirror has started making a creaking noise when folding especially folding in and when the sun has been on it, it folds in an out as normal just seems to lack lubrication. I tried squirting some spray lubricant around the plastic but it's still there, don't really want to dismantle anything. Any suggestions?

if you can pull the plastic cowl off you should get a better look at the moving parts
it might give you a better chance to apply some light grease around the parts that move

Thanks, I was hoping to not have to remove the pod as that means prising the mirror glass off to get at the holding clips to do it the proper way. It may come to that though!!

If you want it fixed but don't want to do anything yourself then take it somewhere to sort it. Let us know how you get on.

Ok in case anyone else has the issue I bit the bullet and removed the mirror glass then the pod, that revealed the top of the pivot post the whole thing rotates on which I sprayed with Teflon based lubricant and the creaky sound has gone now.
cosmicma and Farqui like this.
