Air con Compressor - options

Hi,

The air con in my 2011 1.8 Type S hasn't worked for about a year. I've checked the relay, and taken it to an air con place this week who say the compressor will not power up at all so needs to be replaced. This is the second place that's given the same diagnosis so pretty sure they're correct.

I'm not prepared to pay the 300+ for a new OEM compressor but have seen some aftermarket on eBay.

Would anyone be able to tell me whether this would fit? It says it will on the listing, but I can't match up the part numbers.

If the link doesn't work, it's item no. 292342413287

Or any other alternatives that others know will fit?

Thanks

I have just had the same problem with the air con on my 2007 1.8 Type S and was also told new compressor needed.
But after speaking to the air con specialist who services our fleet of trucks at work he was surprised that they had not considered a new a/c. clutch set.

So after taking his advice a new clutch set was ordered and fitted all now working perfectly. All in he charged me 120

The AC compressor internals are lubricated with a fair bit oil, unless it runs dry, it's unlikely to fail. You'd also know if the compressor itself has failed because it would be making a noise.

As said above, it's more likely the electromagnetic clutch that has worn and needs shimming correctly again.

So that's either a new O ring or a seal FWIW. Unless the body was cracked?
