Alloy wheels

HELP!!
Could someone offer me any solution to get rid of this stuff on my wheels I dont know what it is and I've went over and tried to clean it like 3 times but it's not moving.
not sure if its corrosion or some defect in the wheel.

I would say the bit on the outside is whiteworm, basically the lacquer gets chipped very slightly and salt gets into it and you get micro corrosion.

Are they diamond cut wheels lacquered on top?

Yeah they're diamond cut wheels not sure if they're lacquered but they probably are

Nope unfortunately not, only by refurb

Diamond cut wheels look lovely when fresh but can deteriorate quickly in this country!

Not alot of people near me can referb diamond cut wheels that's the problem, could I use wet and dry sandpaper to get them out and lacked over it to protect it?

It's not something I have done myself personally but I've had a look on the web and have found instances of people trying to repair them.

Most advice is wet and dry through the grades 400/600/1200/2000, then polish and spray some lacquer over the repair to seal it.

This would only be a temporary fix though and you may struggle to match it in with the rest of the wheel so I would say try this at your own risk.

After my Golf GTI wheels suffered badly from this I would think long and hard before getting a car with diamond cut wheels again. They are more and more common these days which is a shame.

Let us know how you get on of you decide to try, would be keen to see some before and after shots of the wheel.

Personally i wouldn't bother with getting them re-diamond cut with a refurb - it's hard to find someone to do it and it won't get a proper factory finish, and will likely fail again in the future with any rock chip/ salt ingress.

Much better to just get them painted or powdercoated - much more resilient finish IMO.
