Its just not my year...

After initially having to wait an extra 3 weeks for delivery, i finally recieved my Civic today - Good News.

Bad News:

To my dismay, i looked in the window and noted the lack of satnav screen - walked to the front - no fog lights... walked to the passenger side, no dual zone climate control.... AAAAHHHH!!!!

Turns out my Boss has ordered the SE not the EX! what a plonker... Thing is - he has already signed on the dotted line for the lease...

He has promised to pay for the satnav/HFT if i can find a dealer to fit it, although i am aware it is a factory fitted option.

My question is - Does anyone know if a dealer would be willing/authorised to do this? if so where!?!?

Many thanks in advance,

Tom

AFAIK it's factory fit only. Otherwise I'd have added it to mine when I was given free reign of the accessories booklet

On the good side (Glass half full ) you should be able to get an aftermarket one that shows the pubs and McDs located in the UK and not have to drive to France everyday

I've got an SE and it's fine. Who needs Satnav, when you've got an A-Z and an atlas. More toys to go wrong!

At least it's a company car, I've paid for mine!

Unlucky just isn't the word, just make sure your boss gets the details right when telling the taxman what you actually got

The A-pillar HFT is dealer fit (I've got it but my phone won't pair ), but I think you're out of luck on the built-in SatNav - have him get you a nice top of the range TomTom (that has HFT as well I think)

Kev; do you have a manual or instructions for the A-pillar HFT? I wasn't supplied with any and I could do with leverage when I phone my dealer about it.

Otherwise could you tell me if you can change the HFT from Headset to Handsfree; and I'm still not 100% sure I know how to pair it.

Sorry it's late, can't find anything about switching modes but I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to Bluetooth so there's every possibility I'm just not recognising it. I've listed the pairing procedure for you tho

1. Turn on your Bluetooth cellular telephone, and locate the information on how to Add or Search for Bluetooth devices
2. With the ignition activated except for the Lock (0) position (enable if the engine is working) press the Volume-up and Volume-down buttons simultaneously, then the blue light on the Bluetooth module switch starts to blink.
3. Search for the device on the cellular telephone. When the search is complete the cellular telephone should say EL-HA1 followed with a few numbers.
4. At this time the cellular telephone should ask for a PIN number, enter 0000
5. After a few seconds (up to a minute or two), the pairing should be complete and the blue light on the Bluetooth module switch should be solid blue (not blinking)
6. If the system fails to pair with your cellular telephone, recheck your cellular telephone Owner's Manual and repeat the above procedure.

Hope that helps a little - if your dealer doesn't oblige I can pdf the manual for you
