Outside Temperature Sensor not displaying and AC failure.

The Outside Temperature Sensor failed after I filled up with petrol, on start up it flashes -40C and then displays; --C and I can't change it, simultaneously the AC won't cool the car down ditto the Climate Control. Has something gone spectacularly wrong? I would appreciate any advice please. Many thanks in advance.

Sounds like your outside temp sensor is faulty I would recommend that you replace this first as the climate control unit uses this sensor input. If this doesn't fix your issue completely your AC system will require further diagnosis. The outside temp sensor is located behind the front grille.

So the A/C wont cool the car down even when in just normal A/C mode and not CC mode.

No some cool air comes through but not enough to cool the car down, even with the A/C and CC off the car doesn't cool down.
