ALL the fault light - anyone seen that?

Hi

on Wednesday when I was driving back home I got amber engine light on dash and display turned amber and told me to Check System. Moreover, as I continued, after a couple of km it started showing all the fault lights and messages and rpm indicator went to zero, although it was still showing speed and I the car was driving perfectly normal.. after a while they are all gone and the amber engine light was left.

I went for a ride yesterday just to film that. I had driven about 9 minutes or so until the same scenario came up (all the warnings). I was driving while the phone was filming.

The video is here:

I have tried removing the battery for about 2 hours, double-checked the fuses under the hood and recharged the battery. Has anybody seen anything like that? any ideas? I can't get to Honda garage before the end of the next week...

a real stab in the dark here
maybe a loose connector on one of the control modules ( ecu , abs etc ) or a dodgy alternator

i had a similar thing on a toyota granvia i know it's not a civic but the alternator was playing up and only partially charging the battery
if i was driving for any length of time at night with lights , heater ,radio etc on at the same time it was draining the battery to a point that all warning lights were showing on the dash because the voltage had dropped significantly

might be worth checking the battery voltage when this happens again with a multimeter

like i said a bit of a wild guess

Your Civic is attempting to commit suicide.

If you can try to pull the fault codes(see if a local garage can pull and give you the codes for a tenner).

VSA, ABS, could be connected.
EPS no idea.
SRS no clue.

One step closer - I accientally discovered that once all the lights go on, it helps when I give a little thud to the right side with my knee (as I'm sitting on driver seat, i have steering wheel on the left side)

So it might be, as Cosmicma suggested, a loose connector. What might me there? ECU etc?

Some of the cabin main connectors are behind the fuse box around your left knee, get down there with a flashlight and try pushing them firmer into the sockets as well as the cables into the connectors. May be that you'll need to take off the lower cover off.
ECU is nowhere near your right knee
It might be useful to check the codes to pinpoint the problem:

Okay, got that sorted out. Thay found one datacable hat it's isolation rubbed off and that touched the body. thay fixed that but. the next morning I got the engine ligt again. Went to Honda again and the fault code is:

U0155 F-CAN MALFUNCTION (ECM/PCM-GAUGE CONTROL MODULE)

They said it seems to be communication problem within MICU or the part where it shows all these lights, RPM and so on...

You can do a gauge test to see if the fault is the gauges.
