HTC One bluetooth pairing

Hi all,

Long time no see! I'm back having just traded in my POS BMW 120D for a 1.8EX i-Shift. I'm just trying to sort out pairing my HTC One with the bluetooth and am struggling a bit - either my phone won't see the HFT or the HFT won't see my phone. Just wondering if anyone on the forum had successfully paired a HTC One with their HFT?

Got My HTC One paired to it no probs, Also had previous One X paired to it.

I've always had to force the car to find it by clicking on Honda HFT on bluetooth devices screen to get them to pair rather than letting the car find the phone, maybe give that a go?

I don't think there is a Bluetooth screen on mine - it seems to be all spoken commands...

cheers I'm gonna give it a go tomo! probably after i have ripped out the on board satnav which has now packed up! an ICE specialist has told me the ribbon which moves with the laser has probably worn out! so i managed to find one from a stacked 2k13 car which should go straight in.Probably won't be that straight forward as these thing's never are!! Half the dash and glove compartment will more than likely need to be pulled out!! kev

My HTC One paired first time.

The trick is to get both units searching for each other at the same time.

= both in discovery mode

I must be doing something really stupid because it just ain't working for me. My phone pairs with my home audio and my iMac just fine. Is there a firmware update for the HFT?

My HTC One pairs fine with my 2006 EX.

As mentioned above, to complete the pairing, I have both the handset and the car looking for each other at the same time. This has been necessary for a few different handset models, not just the HTC One.

Once paired, I've not had any problems picking up incoming calls via the HFT. On occasion, making outgoing calls via the HFT has resulted in the call failing and ocassionally the HTC One rebooting.

I think I need to check the Bluetooth module. Anyone know where it's located in the car?

Definitely not having any of it. Even though she's saying "searching for a Bluetooth phone" she's not finding one. Tried my iPhone 4 and that's the same.

I've had two or three Bluetooth HFT units fail on me, thankfully replaced by extended warranty (which I have extended repeatedly due to various problems).

When mine died, the non-phone voice commands would not work, for example "Go Home" - which should instruct the Sat Nav.

I think with a dead HFT unit, pressing the steering wheel button for the voice control did not give the usual beep. Are you able to use non-phone voice commands?

There have been a few HFT units sold on this site, or breakers yard might be worth a try? Anything to avoid the 900 that Honda charge!

I see you've posted via a Nexus 7. Does that pair OK and work ?

Be easier to work out which side is failing.

Apologies for reopening a 6 month old post but I've just had a similar issue when trying to pair my Bluetooth 4.0 mobile. Also, it's not clear that the OP managed to find a solution.

So, it turns out that I was trying to pair my phone by using the 'Pair' option from the 'Main' menu, as mentioned in http://www.civinfo.com/forum/electro...ml#post1211096 and on Honda Handsfree. This gave a response like "No phones found, returning to the main menu."

The solution for me was to use the 'Phone setup' option from the 'Main' menu. And then to use the 'Pair' option from here. I got this info from http://www.civinfo.com/forum/electro...tml#post781430.
