Slightly different new key design

Just put my car in for a service today and picked up a 57 model loan car.

Noticed the key is slightly different - doesn't have that black label that wears off after a month! See... Honda are listening! lol

Are you sure that's not the little polythene protective film that you're supposed to remove

Nope - it's a label built into the key - that contains the serial number, version number etc - that just wears away!

The new one seems to have it imprinted into the key itself.

My suspension is fine. Maybe they have fixed the problems for new cars.

This was mentioned in another post. Thats what my key back looked like until I replaced it with the red H back, now it has no numbers or any of that other stuff on it at all.

I still have the old key back, but if you ever need anything done to the key your meant to go back to the stealers with that barcode they tell you not to lose.

Lol!! You wouldn't be the first to hand a car back without this vital piece of information. My dealer stuck it in the folder thing, which I need to put away safe. Not under a pile of clothes

under a pile of clothes seems safe to me!

especially judging by my daughter's room - I think she's trying to keep the entire carpet safe...

i was dissapointed with my key! i had a Merc ** the civic and coming from the tidy flip key to the boring standard key of the civic is jus a let down! the car is miles ahead of its competition in the aspect of design, so why is the key like sumthing from a ford escort?

Get yourself onto e-bay the, click the link through the 'Who wants a flip key' post and order the flip housing for 11.99 including p&p!

I'm not bothered about the key really. I've got my Red H on the back which is good enough for me and when i'm driving i'm the only one who can see it

How much was the red H key housing ? and is it just a straight swap of covers.
The flip key would be nice but can't be bothered to do all that soldering work

Some folk have managed to get it from a dealer in the UK, but Holdcroft cant I got it off a guy from Canada on Ebay cost about 20 quid all in and arrived within a week.

I'll just find you the thread with the part number incase you wish to try your dealer

http://www.civinfo.com/forum/holdcro...get-these.html - This one is the one with the part no in the Holdcroft section

http://www.civinfo.com/forum/type-r/...ype-r-key.html - This one has a link to the guy on ebay
