Parking sensors in splitter

I think that that is the name for the honey combed bit that contains the exhausts. A person down the road from me with a civic has them on the upper edge of that, on a black car, black sensors almost recessed.

You wouldn't notice them in passing - looked really nice.

Has anybody come across anyone else with them set there? I would have thought that they migyht be a little low.

Perhaps he hasn't opted for the Honda ones but gone for one of the much cheaper versions of 'button' shaped sensors that are on ebay. Like these, or similar: Wireless LED Display Car Reverse Parking Sensor KIT 4 S on eBay, also Reversing Sensors, Security Electrical, Car Accessories, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 23-Jun-08 20:05:21 BST)

Quite a few members have fitted this type and I believe they work very well.

The Honda version have a 'dished' shape to them and are usually painted to fit where you see mine. Vast difference in price though!

My father fitted something similar to its Accord Type-S for 100 and they work pretty fine. The only problem is that because the LED display screen is not wireless but with wire they had to remove the roof to fit them and some trims around and they created some rattles. I it was my car I wouldn't let them dismantle anything more than the door trims.

There is a good thread discussing and demonstrating fitting non-Honda parking sensors here: http://www.civinfo.com/forum/how/120...ave-250-a.html

I fitted my own ones from ebay - they work ok.

These ones, however, are not those ones, they are dish shaped (as per the Honda ones) and unlike the link to the DIY guide, they are not fitted in the bumper (which is, I beleive where the Honda ones are fitted), they are fitted below in the black plastic.

I just thought that it was a really nice alternative and looked quit subtle.
