intermittent cruise control fault

hi folks. been looking through the forums to see if anyone else has this fault but cant seem to find it.
When i set the speed on my cruise control it wont stay set. sometimes it will stay for a few minutes and go off and sometimes only for a few seconds. any ideas on what could be at fault?

A 1 minute search bought up these results and I'm rubbish on the computer!!!! Anyway hope they help a little. I'd try the lifting the clutch pedal up first though.
