Question Is there an upgrade to play DVD's?

I have a 2008 Honda Civic sedan with Navi. I want to be able to play DVD's on the Navi. People have suggested installing a ceiling mount DVD player (but I have a sunroof) or head rest monitors, but I want to be able to watch from the front seat. I'va heard there is an upgrade for the Navi system that allows you to play DVD's but its a seperate unit from the Stereo but that they are working on one that will allow you to put the DVD in the existing CD slot and be able to play DVD's on the screen that now shows the NAVI/Stereo info. Any one know anything about this and where I can get either one?

Is`nt it illegal to drive and watch a DVD and if you are stationary I could think of much better things to do even at my great age

It is here in GB, but I don't know about in the US.

In GB you cannot play a DVD (etc) if it can be seen by the driver.

But if you just put a DVD in the player in the glove compartment which has the sat nav disc in(obviously taking the sat nav disc out), would a DVD play on the sat nav system.

You can enable video input as stated somewhere in the wiki.
In that case, you'd have to plug a portable dvd player.
It's a bit tricky tho, and it doesn't solve the sound output question : you'd have to install a connect2 solution or the like to enable aux input on the HU.

It's no big money actully but this will requiere quite a large amount of time.
I don't know if it's legal on your side of the Channel, but I'm sure it's not on my side.

they would have to follow you to see what was going on, but you just turn it off by putting the satnav screen back on. playing the ps3 and driving may become very tricky.

Why do you assume the OP would watch the DVDs whilst driving

Thanks for that FWH, not sure if I have the time and mentality to do some thing like that. I always end up with screws left over when I try and some thing like that.
If I want to watch DVD's then I am better taking my portable DVD player and watching them on their (only when I am parked up of course).
