Bootlid light on dash and central locking not locking

Hi all just wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction.

The dash shows the Bootlid open at all times despite being securely locked!

This means I can't lock using the key fob and have to use key in door to lock. Fob operates the central locking to open though.

Also annoying dash light on all the time.

Honda don't make cars as they use to. Late 59 plate. Suspension and electrical issues like the French cars!

I think the sensor is part of the latch. However I could be miles out with that guess

I would assume the latch, but it could be on the door side or the bumper side.
But a sensor normally tells the computer that the door is open.

Hi

Still not sorted this out!

Could someone please stick a pic up of what the sensor looks like.

So the remote central locking does not respond
Car is locked by old fashioned using key on lock
The bootlid open light is always on the dashboard.

Cheers

Try going to the local Honda dealer?

From what I can find on LingsHonda (they do all the parts, and diagrams)

Honda Car Parts / Choose by Model / Genuine Honda Parts | Honda Cars | Honda Motorcycles | Honda Power Products | Lings Honda

It's possibly either item 10, the stopper, or built into the lock itself. Apparently you can take the interior trim off and use the manual release inside, then try opening and closing it a few times to perhaps unstick it?

Thanks for this. Seems who lock ( part 4 ) is only 30 odd.

Tried taking the trim off. Took of the screw sections but can get trim off. Is there any easy way to do this ? I don't want to use to much force as the trim looks quite brittle!
